1. Due Nov. 3 - Write a detailed account of your experiences learning English and identify the challenges you face when writing English and why. Include ways you think I may be able to assist you in overcoming your challenges. Also, do you think that your culture influences the way you learn? Why/why not?

Include title page - always! APA or MLA

1. Writing Assignment - Due Nov. 05 - Spend time at the SUB observing the activities; make note and describe, in as much detail, all the things your senses detects. Also, make note of any feelings or thoughts you might have.
Once you have completed your writing, choose three sentences and identify the subject and verb. Also, identify three prepositional phrases in your work.
Because you are submitting this assignment electronically, you will need to consider how to identify the subject, verb and prepositional phrases. For instance,
you could signify the subject with one asterisk, the verb with two and the prepositional phrases with three and then include a legend at the end of the paper to indicate what each is.

After giving a brief overview of "Celebrating Christmas in Sandy" reflect on one Christmas that was meaningful
for you and why. Use signal words where appropriate AND underline them as identification.

4. Writing Assignment: Nov. 26

Read: "Life Without Father", Creating Meaning, p. 15
Discuss the main point -- do you agree or disagree? Why?
Continue to concentrate on signal words AND watch that you use correct verb tenses throughout.

5. November 30
Complete Assignments on Subject-Verb agreement, comma and semi-colon sections in Bare Essential.

6. Last writing assignment! Due December 03.


1. Give a brief overview of the three readings (posted on this wiki) that were distributed on Tuesday in class.
2. Give a brief overview of the class discussion with Elder Gwen Bear.
3. Give your impressions and reactions to the issues discussed in class.
